Yes , it does have a distributor.

A: Double check the wiring that runs near the distributor cap. I had a friend do a tune up on his s-10 and he accidentally got a wire pinched under the cap. He called me later complaining that his tach was jumping around erratically. I when over and checked the work he performed and found the wire. I removed the cap, dislodged the wire, and reinstalled the cap. Everything is working good now.

I have had several things happen to my truck 1998 that have been covered by it seems like every year except 1998 or to other makes or models from 1998. Most recently my wipers have stopped working from time to time and I discovered a recall for the exact problem for 1996 Chevy S10's. I read somewhere that I needed to look more widely at recalls to see if it applied to all chevy trucks or whatnot. I can't seem to find this. Any ideas?

A: i had a 98 and it did the same thing. i took it to the dealer and they told me the recall did not apply to the 98s. I found that the wiper control module under the hood is what goes bad. You can pick it up at an indepent parts place for a whole lot cheaper than the dealer will sell it for.

A: a starter is generally on the bottom of the engine, near the area where the transmission connects. it should be easy to replace, with just 2 or 3 bolts holding the assembly on, with a few wires that will need to be disconnected as well.

i have a chevy s10 carborated 2.8 engine and when im driving the truck will hesitate and then i will have to pump the gas and then there is a popping noise (im not sure if its back firing or not) then it will eccelerate.before the i got the truck it was sitting for an unkown amount of time.i have already changed the fuel filter and i have done a full tune-up.

I have a chevy s10 with the 4 cylinder FI 2.5 engine. The power steering unit is a seperate pump and reservoir configuration and I cannot find the unit(s) anywhere. Can it be replaced with the pump/reservoir combo unit?

A: you need a unit that will align correctly to your belts and thats likely going to be your problem

i put a well built V-8 with about 425 horse in my 1990 S-10 for about 3500 dollars. but that engine 3200 dollars and the actual conversion process was only 300. very easy in my book, but i'm mechanically inclined. yours will be easy if you keep if fuel injected and even easier if you go carbureted.

for all intentions i would go V-6. you'll have to modify the motor mounts, get a different trans that will mount to the V-6 (700R4), you'll have to modify the exhaust and intake, as well as the wiring harness, fuel inlet lines, and the computer. then after that, it's just nickle and diming it.

I have a 1994. Chevy s10. 4.3L V6 Automatic. I was wondering if yall think it could pull a 2 horse trailer, using just the bumper, or if i should buy a receiver hitch or not tow with this truck at all?

A: Best bet is to read your owners manual for towing specifics. It will tell you if you need a reese hitch with load levels and sway bars , etc I personally would never tow a horse trailer just using the bumper. Also you will probably want to have an electric brake installed just to be safe since you will be hauling living creatures. Good Luck !!
