Q: What kind of truck should I buy, like an International MXT, or Ford F650.?
Here’s the story. I have a Hummer H2 that is dying on me quickly, so I need a new truck.
I’m really interested in the International MXT.
I also like the Ford F650, but the $300,000 is a little rough.
Does anyone have any other big truck suggestions.
A: International MXT – is a great truck.
Another is a TOPKICK by GMC.
I’m not a big fan of H2 – or H3.
I do like the H1 and original humm V’s.
What do you mean by dying on you – ??
Q: What is the private party value of a 2000 Ford F650 26 foot box truck?
With 100k miles, the Cat diesel engine, Allison automatic transmission and a 2500 pound liftgate?
A: Depends on the trim level, price of box and lift etc. New frame, without the box, they run about $50-60k. 2000 complete I would say $30-40k area would be very fair; it has very low mileage for its age.
Q: What is the value of a 2000 Ford F650 with a 7.3 Cat diesel engine, 26 foot box, liftgate and 104k miles?
Looking for wholesale and retail values or a range of values. I don’t see a place for commercial trucks on KBB
And it is indeed a Powerstroke 7.3 by Catepillar.
A: seriously like 20 bucks
Q: What is the oil change interval for a 2000 Ford F650 with the 7.2 Caterpillar Diesel?
And if anyone knows, how many quarts of oil does it take? What’s the recommended viscosity and what would the average cost be to have the oil change performed?
Thanks
A: I believe you refer to engine oil change interval. 10,000 kilometres if you drive the highway, much shorter interval if you drive along/through dusty places
The ambient temperature where you drive determine the viscosity of the engine oil you need. A multi-grade like SAE 0W-40 would suit a wider temperature fluctuation
If you do it yourself, it is the cost of the engine oil, the oil filter (replace this as you change the engine oil), the hand tools, that is about all
Q: Would I need a C licenses in Illinois to drive an (Ford F650 Dominator ) Truck?
Would I need class C licenses to purchase or drive an (Ford F650 Dominator Truck)
A: Dunno, never seen anything over a 350 out here, but seeing how big they are, I wouldn’t doubt it.
Q: how strong is the ford f650 Cummins motor?
do you think it would give me alot more then a 100k miles?
A: The Catterpillar 3126B and Cummins 5.9L are both very strong. Yes, you should expect more than 100K miles, with proper maintenance.
Q: Can anyone tell me what the 2nd fuse from the bottom on the right side on the 2000 Ford F650 is for?
I have a 2000 Ford F650 26 foot box truck with the Cat diesel. Aft
A: Best bet is to look in your owners manual if you have it and if you don’t go see the ford partsman at your local ford dealer and he will be able to tell you.
Q: Ford F650 Lift Gate. Any mechanically inclined people?
Have a 2004 Ford F650. The liftgate on the back has no power. Pretty sure the fuse is blown. Does anyone know how to reset it.
Thanks.
A: its a in-line fuse follow the wires backwards lift gate to battery
1 AUX is it on or 2,3,4
PTO is it on runs off trans – screws in on back side of unit
Q: I’m thinking about buying a new Ford F650. What are the pros and cons?
Holy, there’s nothing I couldn’t crush with that beast.
A: Pros…..it is way ******* cool.
Cons….I don’t have one.
Q: Does chevy have a truck like the international RXT and the ford F650?
A: They did it was called the Kodiak and the topkick but now international owns it.
Q: How much for a Ford F650 Super Truck, and how do i get one?
I want a Ford F650 Super Truck, the 6 door beast, not the 4 door. how much does it cost, for like a 2005, and how do i find one, is it something i go to a dealer and special order, or an online thing, I couldn’t find anything very helpful on it online.
I know that XUV is priced around $170,000, and I’m sure the 6 door is not too far behind it.
Also is maintaining it relatively cheap, like maintaining a regular truck, or is it really expensive, like maintaining a Ferrari or something?
Thanks
A: You must be referring to a conversion job I read about in Motor Trend’s Truck Trend. The $170,000.00 estimate you got is not far off–the F650 is a two-ton chassis-cab available from the factory with daycabs, SuperCabs and Crew Cabs, including a Caterpillar/Allison-equipped SuperCrewZer (the six-door conversion, I believe, tacks an additional crew cab rear section to a factory crew cab). Maintaining this monster IS quite expensive, but somewhat short of most Ferraris in this respect; the F650, a SERIOUS work truck, packs huge four-pot disc brakes on its eight-inch-drop I-beam steer axle, plus sixteen-inch drums on the drive axle.
I recommend the Caterpillar C8 ACERT engine for this platform, as it has the best-sized powerband for a truck that pushes a four-ton curb weight; gearboxes include two Allison automatics and several manuals off a 12″ dual-disc clutch (I recommend the Eaton-Fuller FRO12210B five-plus-five speed, if available, as it will best handle the C8’s 750+ ft-lb @ 1200 RPM). Be advised that the C8 will take four gallons of API CH-4, SAE 15W-40, at an oil change (the Cummins ISB6.7c takes three, as I know from experience with a Cummins 6BTA5.9-equipped Dodge BE2500).
Q: How do I purchase one of these Ford F650’s? (Picture link included)?
I just wanted to know HOW I would go about getting my hands on one. Don’t need to hear about the money part of it, just how I would get one. Where would I have to go, who would I have to talk to, etc, etc.

Q: I have a wet wire short on my Ford F650 Cat diesel. Will pulling the 7.3L PCM diode fuse cause a problem?
I have a 2000 Ford F650 26 foot box truck with the Cat diesel. After some heavy rain, a draw on the power killed the batteries. I installed new batteries and the dash lights came on, the voltage meter registered and the key in the ignition “dinging” started even though the keys were not in the ignition. Clearly this is what happened that killed the batteries
When I did put the keys in and started the truck, it wouldn’t turn off despite turning the key to the off position and removing the key.
I traced it to the interior fuse panel to the #30 (30 amp) which controls the “7.3L Power Stroke PCM Diode” and the “7.3L Power Stroke Fuel Heater.”
I yanked this #30 fuse and the truck starts up and runs fine and turns off with no more draw on power.
My question is, will keeping this fuse out be ill advised for any reason? And if so, why?
I’m driving across country in two days and I have no time to fix this now if I can avoid it.
Another related question: When the key is turned to the on position but the truck is not actually started, there is a buzzing coming from the engine area on the drivers side and it doesn’t stop. I don’t recall whether it did this before. What is it and is it normal for it to keep buzzing/running without stopping?
I remember Ford cars buzzing when the key was in the on position for 5 seconds but that was in the rear and it was the fuel pump. Again, this buzzing is in the front and does not stop.
The book specifically indicates that fuse is for “7.3 Power Stroke Fuel Heater” AND “7.3 Power Stroke PCM Diode”
7.3 is that Cat engine, there is no other 7.3 available
A: here is the deal if you have a 650 with a cat engine in it that fuse you just pulled is for one that has a 7.3 diesel in it and it is the fuel heater that fuse does not apply on this truck, if that is what the owners manuall says either you have the wrong book or the you are looking at the wrong engine, either way that fuse controlls soemthing eles, if you have no problems with the truck then I would say it is good to drive
Q: how much does a ford f650 cost?
the truck not the big trucks the ones with 4 wheels on the back
A: depends on what you want..if just the chassis probably about $70K
Q: what engine is in an ford f650?
ford
v10 or v12
A: 2000 to 2002 model years:
7.3L DIT V8 Navistar
7.2L (3126B) Caterpillar inline 6
5.9L Cummins inline 6
2003 to current model years:
6.0L DIT V8 Navistar
7.2L (3126B) Caterpillar inline 6
5.9L Cummins inline 6
ALL of the above are diesel engines. A V10 or V12 engine does not exist as an option for the truck in question. Hope this helps.
