Q: lexus is300?
i am eventually planning on getting a lexus is300. im planning to add a cold air intake, headers, remus exhaust, and maybe an intercooler/supercharger. is this practical? and more importantly, is it street legal and does it meet emissions standards in southern california. is it going to be too loud and am i going to be pulled over frequently?
also, what is the average cost of one from a dealership and one from a want ad(or something like that.)
also, if some are street legal and meet emissions standards and some aren’t, which companies make the street legal ones?

i dont know how to work an ecu/boost controller. are they the same thing?
how much would the mods cost? on average
A: Just placing the car on the side, like any car. Now these days, it takes a lot to get it really modified or to obtain a good noticeable performance change.
Car companies push these engines to meet emissions and squeeze every bit of power they can get and keep it drivable with good riding characteristics. No much room to improve unless you suffer from lower gas mileage, smog increase, or is not smooth running with a narrower power band. The best bang for your money is a computer reprogram.
You want to make more mods that will give you more, you have to move from California, like in the Midwest, they do not have emission tests. Some has just safety inspections.
Q: Im thinking about buying a 2001 lexus is300 with 129k miles is this a bad or good idea?
its a 2001 lexus is300 with everything up to date on maintenance all done at the lexus dealership with documents. but what worries me that it has 129k miles how long can these cars last for? the price is $6000 is that good or bad? its fully loaded with every option 5 speed auto with e-shift.
A: Well,I checked for You and on ebay and if You want less miles for around the same price, then You can get a 2001 IS 300 with 104,000 miles for 6,700$.
But,if Your worry is about the 129k miles,You shouldn’t be worry at all! This car is like a dream,I bet if You ask the previous owner,if the car ever broke down,I’m 99.99% sure it never did.Especially with the regular maintenance(oil, brakes) it would be like buying a new car. Looking at Your name “Live life to the fullest” this car is definitely for You! the 120 mph mark You will be able to reach very easy and if You have long enough road, then 140 mph is a standard reality. Plus all the fun You get while having RWD is unimaginable. The hand brake on the turns the donuts in the snow, basically whole set to live Your life to the fullest,if that what You are after.Plus,if You adrenaline junkie, then coming to the finish almost the same as a hooked up Mitsubishi EVO is pretty impressive! Well the most importantly, the reliability that Lexus IS 300 have is unbeatable!
Q: What is the official name of the exterior paint color of a 2002 Lexus IS300 that is red?
Again; what is the official name of the exterior paint color of a 2002 Lexus IS300 that is bright red?
A: I believe the color is called “Absolutely Red”.
Q: How many miles does a Lexus IS300 Ussally last?
I was just thinking about buying a 2001 lexus IS300 with around 90,000 miles on it. And I was wondering how many miles does the car last? Thanks
A: Same as Toyota or Honda or Acura. It depends on how well the car is taken care of. If you listen to the owners manual and take it to every service interval, then it should last way over 200,000 miles.
Q: How long does a Lexus IS300 run for?
How long does a lexus IS300 run for?I mean referring to miles and kilometers?and how many liters and cc?
and whats the averag mpg?
A: That’s dependent upon a raft of variables, namely your driving style, whether it’s driven in city traffic or country roads, and indeed whether you opt for the petrol or the diesel. You can be sure of rock solid reliability from a Lexus, but MPG is far more convoluted to gauge.

Q: lexus is300?
not the new one, do YOU not me. think this car kinda resembles the honda civic??
A: No, not really. Its significantly larger.
Q: What type of tires should i get for my Lexus Is300?
Tire size is 215/45ZR17. I been looking around for a set of tires for my is300. If anyone bought tires or has any suggestions for me i would appreciate them. I been looking on the web, i am mostly looking for people who drive Lexus Is300 to answer this question. Thank You
A: It all depends on how you drive the car.
If you live in a cold climate that sees snow and/or ice and insist on using just one set of tires then you need to look into a high-performance all-season tire. The Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position is my favorite choice here. Avoid the Yokohama AVID W4s which, while a slightly better riding tire is horrendous in any kind of snow.
If you drive where the weather is mostly warm and you like to toss the car around the cloverleafs at a good clip than an ultra-high-performance summer tire is in order. A Bridgestone Potenza RE050 would be a good choice here or if you want to get 95% of the performance but with longer tread wear the Potenza RE760 Sport is an excellent tire, and a bit less expensive. Either are much better than the Yokohama S.drive whose popularity astounds me. Trecherous in the rain this one.
If your needs emphasize a smooth ride then you need a touring tire. Not much to choose from in this size. The Bridgestone Turanza EL400 and Michelin MXM4 being about it and I’m not a huge fan of either tire. The Michelin especially is shockingly expensive for what it delivers. Not bad tires mind you, but not great. The Goodyear Eagle ResponseEdge might work for you. But don’t drive them in the snow.
If your looking for long treadwear your out of luck.
Q: I istall a spoiler on my lexus is300 2001car back light indicator light stay on in the dash..I check all the t?
I istall a spoiler on my lexus is300 2001car some how the back light indicator light stay on in the dash..I check all the the orther light and they are working”
A: Lexus has a system that measures the resistance in the lighting system that tells it when you have a burnt out bulb and then you get the “back light” alert on your dash. If you hooked up a new light in parallel you’ll lower the over all resistance and thus might be causing the warning light to come on. You would have to put a small load resistor to fix this problem. It happens a lot when people replace the regular incandescent light bulbs with LED light bulbs when they don’t get them with the resistor built in them.
This link is what I’m referring too.

Q: what type of headlight bulb does the lexus is300 use?
my car is a lexus IS300 2002, and the bulb on the right side headlight is out and i would like to know,
how much it would cost to replace it??
and what type of light is it?
thanks!!!
A: 4300k “D2R” Philips HID (aka Xenon) bulbs.
They Cost around $79 to $99 per bulb. You can find them for $170 to 199 a pair for authentic bulbs. There may be cheaper bulbs, but they won’t last as long and quality is not even close. Try EBAY. Avoid the stealership because they will charge you $200/bulb.
I suggest you change both at once or else you will have “un-even” colors due to “colorshift” in the bulbs.
Good luck.
Q: How Long Do You Think This Lexus IS300 Will Go For?
I am looking at a black Lexus IS300 for my first car it is a 2001 with a 104,675 miles on it and the dealer is asking 8,990 for it… is this a good deal and how long do you think this car will last buying it with this many mies if proper maintenance is done to it….do you think it is worth buying???
A: Nope. Too many miles. Look at auctions. Who knows what may have been done to this car. Maintaining a Lexus costs you.
Q: Why are used lexus is300 or lexus is250 hard to find in michigan?
I am looking to buy a car and am considering purchasing a used 2003 and up is300 or a 2006 is250….but for some reason I can’t find any within 75 miles of ann arbor, michigan. Why is it that there are so few, if not any used ones for sale? I haven’t seen many on the roads, so where are they all?
A: Hey I know what you mean! I also live in Mi. A couple months ago I was looking for a newer used car, and I love the is300. 2JZ RWD what else could you want. couldn’t find one anywhere! At All! WTF!! The only thing I could think of was RWD and snow scare most people. especially if your not into fast cars. I ended up buying a ba8 prelude with a H22a swap. I really wanted a IS300 or a MKIII Supra. Dammit! Good Luck in your search.
Q: What is the difference between a Lexus IS200 and Lexus IS300?
I understand that the obvious difference would be the size of the motors. I would assume an IS200 has a 2.0L motor while a IS300 has a 3.0L. The thing is I live in the states, Texas specifically, and have never come across an IS200 on the streets. Is this a European only car?
A: Yes, the IS200 was not imported to the US. They were sold in Asia (as a Toyota) along with Europe and Australia. The first generation IS only came in as IS300 (3.0 liter I6 engine). The second generation you can find in IS250, 300, or 350 trim, and now in 2-door too.
